2025 Youth of the Year Honoree
HARRISON BERMAN
Temple Beth Shalom
Cherry Hill, NJ
Harrison Berman is being honored for his exceptional dedication to Jewish learning, leadership, and advocacy. A lifelong member of TBS—from preschool through Hebrew School, Bar Mitzvah, and confirmation—Harrison continues to stay engaged through TBS’ Hamakom High School program, and in less than two weeks, will be traveling with his TBS classmates on a two week trip to Israel!
After personally experiencing antisemitism in eighth grade, Harrison became a passionate advocate for Jewish pride. He serves on the board of the Jewish American Cultural Club at Haddonfield Memorial High School, helping lead programs that educate classmates and celebrate Jewish culture.
Harrison is also a standout leader in BBYO, holding elected roles at both the chapter and regional levels, and will serve as the International Film Team Lead at BBYO’s upcoming International Convention which will be held in Philadelphia in February. Beyond the Jewish community, he is a two-term Class of 2027 President, helping raise over $28,000 for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, and he is active in the National Honor Society, varsity track, and the nonprofit The Best Day of My Life So Far.
Harrison’s compassion, hard work, and dedication to Jewish learning and leadership make him an extraordinary and deserving Youth of the Year.
